The Joshua Tree House – Before Photos!

We moved into the Joshua Tree House two days ago, and we’ll be here for a few weeks turning this empty space into a cozy, quirky, and relaxing vacation rental. So far, we’ve taken a little bit of time on the front porch just enjoying this incredible house and all of its details. Everything from the ceilings, to the floors, to all of the Joshua Trees scattered along the property make us grateful we were able to buy this place!!

The home has so much character that its not a true blank slate, but still feels like our options are endless. We’re feeling overwhelmed with all of the possibilities, but so excited to pull everything together.

I have to say, this is one of my favorite rooms in the house. It’s the master bedroom ‘closet’, but I also imagine having a daybed in here for some daytime relaxing.

Here’s the second bedroom. It’s separate from the rest of the house, so it’s a great private space. We’re toying with the ideas of making it feel like you’re inside of a canvas tent, or a cozy library.

Here’s our garage, but we’re planning on using it as a studio space!

Though we’re just getting started, we put a mood board together with the general look we want for the house. We would like to hold true to the Spanish style of the home, while adding in some desert and eclectic elements. We’ve started ordering some things for the house, and will be spending a good chunk of our weekend at thrift shops and vintage furniture stores. Wish us luck!
