Whew! A lot happened this year, and I tend to quickly forget about accomplishments in favor of looking forward. It's always nice to take a step back though and see all that can happen in just one year's time. Here are some of the highlights from this year!
We started the year by driving cross-country from New York back to San Francisco. We thought we were going back to SF to get our stuff and move to NYC permanently, but boy did that change when that California sunshine hit our faces again. On our drive, we stopped at a few places we'd never been to like Louisville, Nashville, and Salvation Mountain in California.
When we got back to San Francisco, we started working on a project called Witlee that we needed to keep hush hush for the majority of the year. Witlee allows you to shop products worn in blogger's Instagrams (that's the short term vision anyways - a lot more is in store!). We recently launched the shop on a few blogs, including Gal Meets Glam's shop.
We missed Brooklyn when we got back, so we started exploring new coffee shops in San Francisco to work from. Switching up our workplaces keeps things fresh and exciting for us. We went to Saint Frank in Russian Hill many, many times this year!
In March, we went back to Joshua Tree for the first time after our initial one night trip in 2014. We knew it was a place that was calling to us, so we started looking at real estate!
In April, we got serious and put an offer in on a place in Joshua Tree. It was all meant to be, and on May 15th, 2015 we closed on the Joshua Tree House!
Simultaneously as we were looking for houses in Joshua Tree, I had started working on the 100 Day Project. It took a ton of commitment to work on creating patterns every day... but it opened an incredible amount of doors for me later in the year.
The end of May was spent working on the Joshua Tree House. We would spend two or three week spurts staying at the house so that we could renovate it and turn it into the Airbnb that we dreamed it could be.
We then celebrated the 4th of July on Tyler Lake in Goshen, CT with our families.
Later in July, we started working on a exciting project called Will Journey with an amazing team. (Something we're currently working hard on)
In August we were off to North Carolina for a family event, and still working away on the Joshua Tree House.
I finally finished the 100 Day Project in August, and did takeovers with both Domino Mag and Fiftythree on Instagram that month as well!
Around the same time, I launched a card collection with Punkpost based off of my 100 Days of SF patterns series.
Soon after, I launched a collection of phone cases and laptop sleeves with Casetify!
In October, I celebrated my 29th birthday at the Integratron in Joshua Tree, and got some great press about the Joshua Tree House to make my favorite month even better.
We continued working on client projects, and then in the end of November we celebrated Thanksgiving with my family at the Joshua Tree House.
After many requests, I decided to make prints of one of my most popular patterns from my 100 Day series. You can find it for sale here.
It was a wonderful year of traveling and creating, and I hope that next year is a continuation of that. For the last few days of 2015, I'll be thinking about goals for next year... there sure are a lot! I'm looking forward to sharing more of the crazy ideas we have in store for the new year soon.
Thanks for reminiscing with me, and Happy New Year!! Here's to a great 2016.
