Piles of Pillows from Guildery | DesignComb

I like my Pillows in Piles, Thanks

October 07, 2015 by Sara Combs in The Joshua Tree House

I don't know if there is such a thing as 'cheating' when it comes to interior design, but there are certainly a few tricks I like to use to transform a room that are all too easy. One of these 'cheats' is just adding a ton of pillows. (Plants are another great example, but with The Joshua Tree House I don't get to use quite as many as I'd like - since it's a rental it's a little harder to keep plants happy.) But let me tell you, if a space is feeling cold and bland, it's nothing a good old pile of pillows can't solve.

They instantly add a ton of varying texture, pattern, color, and my favorite part - functionality. They help make a space look cozier because they are literally doing so. That's a win-win if I ever saw one.

We recently got a bunch of pillows for The Joshua Tree House from Guildery. We currently have a couple of them outside on the front porch, and the rest of this pile is waiting to head down to the house on our next trip down!

The ones below that we ordered for the front porch were really fun, especially because Guildery allows you to customize colors on some of their designs. I was really happy with the quality of everything when it all came in - they feel very high end (especially the indoor ones - the outdoor ones are a bit rougher, since they're built to last).

Guildery partners with different artists to design collections, which means that many of the pillows end up with a very painterly feel to them. I love this approach, because it feels more like buying little pieces of artwork rather than just pillows. One of my favorite collections I found is done by Stacey Day. I got two pillows from her Elemental collection, and I'm in love with them!

Here are some others I love as well:
