For the last few years, I've been writing this blog as StyleComb. I started off to set a lifestyle for the jewelry I was making - what you would wear with the jewelry, and what it meant to find style in all aspects of life.
Lately, I've been feeling more attached to the word design... I feel that living with design covers more of the details of everyday life that I want to dive into here on the blog. I also want this space to be less about what my style is and more about designers and artists that I find inspiring (though there will definitely still be style posts).
Some of this influence has come from currently living in Brooklyn where I see so many inspiring people around me. It's got me thinking about what I really want this space to be. I've put a lot of thought into it, and with the name change (welcome to DesignComb!) comes a bunch of new columns. Check out the type of content you'll be seeing around here from now on below.
Inspired By I'm very excited about this column - I will be interviewing various creative people that inspire me and discussing what inspires them.
Combing America We named our road trip across the country earlier this year #combingamerica, and from now on anything travel related will be dubbed #combingmorocco, #combingbrooklyn... you get it :)
Curiosities I'm finding myself incredibly inspired by still lives, and I will be experimenting with my own in this column. I think they'll be mostly fashion focused, but we'll see!
Living with Design This is where we'll get into interior design and home goods (some of my favorites!)
Have you Seen? I'm constantly coming across awesome new (to me) online boutiques, designers, and products. This will be a place to share them!
The History of... This is sort of the opposite of Have you Seen? in that it's most likely a brand or designer you've seen before, but maybe didn't know much about.
Nourished Food is an everyday part of our lives and changes it in so many ways - how we feel when we're eating... and afterwards. All of the recipes shared here will be ones that make you feel happy and healthy.
StyleComb Yes, style is definitely still a part of all of this. I just want to share my style now as a small piece in the grand scheme of things.
Read this Weekend Another fun change in all of this is that my husband Rich is now not only going to help with photography on the blog, but will also be writing this weekly column. When it comes to finding cool links each week, he's the man. So he'll be sharing design related links each Friday so you have some fun reads each weekend.
Whew! So I know that was a lot, but I'm really excited to share all of these changes with you guys. There will still be changes to the site in the next couple of weeks as we continue to hone things, but it feels great to have a fresh start! I hope that we can convince you to try out new things, travel more, live with design, and be inspired by all of the amazing people out there creating every day!
