Planning Our Trip to Hawaii

You know what I can't stop thinking about? The fact that I'm going to Maui in two weeks! I've never been to Hawaii before, so this is a big deal. My grandma is a world traveller and her favorite place of all time is Hawaii. That says a lot, and makes me all kinds of excited. We'll be splitting our trip up into two parts: hip & hippie. I don't even know what I'm more excited for. Maybe you can decide for me.

We'll be renting a Jeep Wrangler and driving around the island of Maui. Our first stop will be the Andaz, a Hyatt hotel in Wailea on Maui. Isn't it beautiful?! It's brand spankin' new too. I love that it's got laid back Hawaiian look that's updated and modern. Oh also... it has 5 pools.

Next, we'll be driving to Hana! From what I've heard, people either love or hate the drive to get there. I've been told both "do the drive so that you can tell other people not to do it", and "do this drive... it is the most beautiful drive you will ever do." I have a feeling that I'll enjoy it though... I'm a road trip kind of girl.

Anyway, once we arrive it's going to be full on hippie time. We rented this Airbnb which is a yurt that sits on a cliff next to the ocean. Not bad, right? There is also a yoga studio, an outdoor kitchen, and you can even pick fruit right off the trees. Seriously, a fantasy world. I can't wait to listen to the ocean when we fall asleep at night.

I'm looking forward to black sand beaches, insanely tall waterfalls, bamboo forests, lots of sushi, and snorkeling. Have you been to Maui, or Hawaii in general? Any places I shouldn't miss?
